Christian Warriors: – “In America”

Where Idolatry Thrives

America and Israel are the only nations ever founded from the beginning upon the purposes of almighty God. Israel was God’s nation under the old covenant. The western world, which was relatively unknown in biblical times, represents the world of Christianity under the new covenant, and certainly America has been the most influential nation in the promotion of Christianity throughout the world. The Lord obviously has called America as a representative of the new covenant and over the last four centuries, she has greatly influenced most of the nations of the world with the gospel truths of Jesus Christ. Godly leaders built this country under the biblical principles of justice, truth, and religious freedom. These founding fathers were Europeans seeking freedom from persecution within the countries of Western Europe. They were the early pilgrims who pursued and honored the Lord. Our present-day heritage of freedom, peace, and prosperity is the fruit of our forefathers’ obedience to and love for, the Lord Jesus Christ and His heavenly Father.

Sadly, our beloved country has evolved into a whoring nation who worships the gods of money and immoral pleasures. The United States of America is a nation gone terribly astray:

?
Prayer and Bible study are not longer permitted in our schools. Although our college campuses are floating in New Age and Far Eastern mysticism.
?
Abortion clinics have butchered tens of millions of babies over the last thirty years, and now our government funds abortion clinics around the world.
?
Violent youth gangs and desperate drug addicts make many city streets unsafe.
?
The pop music industry is dominated by drug-using rock stars who have become cult leaders for our youth. Their songs glorify rebellion against parents, drug abuse, sexual promiscuity, violence, murder, and Satanism. Many of our children know every lyric and sing along with every word.
?
Violent and demonic TV, movies, video games, along with drugs, have spawned a dangerous belief system among American youths in the twenty-first century. Today’s youth culture is not unlike the young disciples of Adolph Hitler in the early thirties who were adamant worshipers of their new charismatic leader.
?
Sin is running rampant; yet the church is strangely silent and in fact, has lost its influence concerning a righteous direction for our nation and has turned to a watered-down proclamation of the true gospel message.

In twenty-first century America, the voice of demons sounds quite pleasant. They are heard on television, in the newspapers, in theaters, in our classrooms, and even in many of our churches. They are voices that continually speak to us about living a happy and successful life but in reality they conceal the truth that leads to true eternal happiness. Materialism, entertainment, pleasure-seeking, celebrity worship, abnormal sexual relationships, obsession with shopping and eating -these are our idols. We worship those things which provide physical and emotional pleasure, and we worship all those people who contribute to our individual pleasures. Our religion is all about “meism;’ we are our own god.

‘The following verse describes the world’s social system in the last days. Doesn’t this sound like the common lifestyle of today’s America?

Godlessness in the Last Days:

But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

2 Timothy
